What this school is for

So that circumstances are not what stops someone studying

Theological study takes a long time and usually costs a great deal. This school exists to remove one of those two. Below is what we hold ourselves to, and beside each one, the place on this site where you can check it.

We do not charge

Every course is free — to read, to be quizzed on, to be certified for. There is no plan to charge later. The running costs are carried by BluePetra Ministry, so there is no reason to bill a student.

There is no payment step anywhere in registration. A screen asking for a card number is not this school.

We do not ask for credentials

No prior degree, no church membership, no ordination is required to begin. Pastors and lay members read the same lectures. Every lecture can be read in full without an account; an account is only for progress and certificates.

We say what we believe first

A place that teaches should not hide where it is teaching from. What this school holds, and which questions it deliberately leaves open, is written down in one document and published. You may disagree — and it is better to know before you begin.

We do not pretend to be a degree

The curriculum follows the shape of an M.Div programme, but this is not an accredited degree-granting institution. What is issued is a certificate of completion, not a degree, and it does not transfer as credit elsewhere. This sentence is on the About page because knowing it now beats finding out later.

We do not set the pace

There are no deadlines, no cohorts, no classmates to keep up with. Read the courses you want, in the order you want, at the speed you want. A lecture is usually about eleven minutes. Come back after months away and your place is still there.

We do not leave you reading alone

Underneath each lecture, what readers have written collects: how other traditions read the same passage, what happened when someone tried it in an actual congregation, and questions with their answers. Tell us where we are wrong and we will fix it.

We run quietly

No advertising. No tracking scripts. We collect only what the studying needs and sell none of it. Email comes only if you ask for it, and at most once a week.
