This is not a degree programme. Certificates are not degrees and do not carry academic credit at accredited institutions.
Most lay leaders are given a task, a title, and nothing else - no training in the actual mechanics of leading people who did not have to say yes to them.
This course is built on one repeated claim: a lay leader in the church leads without the authority a boss, a general, or even a pastor holds. Nobody in this course's audience can fire, discipline, or command the people they lead. That constraint is not a defect to work around - it is close to what the New Testament actually means by leadership, and this course treats it as the starting point rather than the exception.
Eight weeks, each ending in an 'In My Own Seat' exercise: mapping where you actually stand, a character checklist, matching gift to seat, building a delegation list, auditing your group's decisions, preparing a postponed conversation, and - in week 7's required lecture - naming the warning signs of power abuse before they become a crisis.
Scripture is quoted from the World English Bible.
