1염병 후에 여호와께서 모세와 제사장 아론의 아들 엘르아살에게 일러 가라사대
1After the plague, Yahweh spoke to Moses and to Eleazar the son of Aaron the priest, saying,
2이스라엘 자손의 온 회중의 총수를 그 조상의 집을 따라 조사하되 이스라엘 중에 무릇 이십 세 이상으로 능히 싸움에 나갈만한 자를 계수하라 하니
2“Take a census of all the congregation of the children of Israel, from twenty years old and upward, by their fathers’ houses, all who are able to go out to war in Israel.”
3모세와 제사장 엘르아살이 여리고 맞은편 요단 가 모압 평지에서 그들에게 고하여 가로되
3Moses and Eleazar the priest spoke with them in the plains of Moab by the Jordan at Jericho, saying,
4여호와께서 애굽 땅에서 나온 모세와 이스라엘 자손에게 명하신 대로 너희는 이십 세 이상된 자를 계수하라 하니라
4“Take a census, from twenty years old and upward; as Yahweh commanded Moses and the children of Israel.” These are those that came out of the land of Egypt.

5Reuben, the firstborn of Israel; the sons of Reuben: of Hanoch, the family of the Hanochites; of Pallu, the family of the Palluites;
